Charity Mission of the Event

Raising Funds for our partner
Let’s be S.M.A.R.T. Animal Rescue Facility in Greece
and our U.S. based activities

One of the important aims of the NYC Event is to help raise money for our Campaign to help our partners Greece cat sanctuary located in the Attika region.

Let’s be S.M.A.R.T. sanctuary has been operating in Greece since 2011. The sanctuary is situated in the Attika region and currently hosts more than 40 rescued cats. The cats were rescued from the streets, sometimes in horrible condition as a result of injury or abuse.

Within its Adoption Program, Let’s be S.M.A.R.T. organization facilitates adoptions of the rescued cats locally and to other European countries. In 2017 alone, about 17 rescued cats found their new forever home through adoption program. Angelico, a 3-legged cat from Beirut, found his forever home in NYC.

Let’s be S.M.A.R.T. covers costs of all its activities, including operating the sanctuary in Greece, mainly from internal funds and must rely on kind donations to keep going on its mission. Yearly budget of the SMART sanctuary in Greece is 34,200.00 EUR and yearly budget of SMART Sterilization Program, which the organization runs in Athens, 5,000.00 EUR. Let’s be S.M.A.R.T. therefore always welcome donations from companies or individuals.

Donations will help to finance following operations and needs of the rescue facility in Greece:

  • rent/utilitie

  • care givers

  • cat food

  • cat litter and litter boxes

  • cleaning items and other supplies

  • beds for cats, cat trees, towers and condos, cat toys
